Alicia C. Kelly, is responsible for the direction of the Bessie Kates Foundation, inc.  Her idea for the foundation began while conducting research at Cornwall Regional Hospital, located in Montego Bay, Jamaica.  She realized that one of the major obstacles in providing health care was the lack of supplies.  To purchase supplies, money is the essential key. She decidied to remove the barrier and assist hospitals and clinics in developing nations by providing the supplies at no cost to the provider.  Her ideology is that we all desearve quality healthcare, no matter where we live.  This ideology came from her mother who is a practicing physcian.  Alicia received a bachelor's in polital science from Dillard university and a Master of Jurisprudence in Health Law from Loyola Univeristy Chicago School of Law.
